My Josephine Saga

Howdy.

I just wanted to thank Soap Fiber Gal for starting a KAL for the beautiful Josephine and to also intro myself, as I did join the KAL afterall.

I am one of those that immediately picked up the needles when I first took a glimpse and Josephine and never looked back! Needless to say, I am almost done with mine. I only have the collar to finish up and then some blocking...then hopefully say something like, "ta-da!" I did have to frog the collar once already and now I fear I might have to do so once again, as my 'seam' ended up on the inside instead of underneath the collar. Does this seem correct? I'm just not sure how it's going to look this way. I guess I will finish it and if I don't like what I see, I'll try it a 3rd time. I'll be curious to see how all goes for everyone else.

I am using Knitpicks' "Sierra" in color mist. I am making the size medium and it looks like I will be finishing it within 11 skeins worth. I am also doing fine with regular sizes 10.5 and 11 needles.

This is really fun to knit and it truly knit up very quickly for as big as it is! This is where I am at (well maybe not if I re-frog the collar again. oh well!):

Feel free to check out more photos and ramblings on my blog if you're interested.

One other thing I have been thinking about is why, especially on the back of the sweater, the smaller zig-zagging cables don't pop out like they do in the photo's of the author's Josephine. Mine look like that....zig-zags, while the real-deal looks more like cabled back-and-forth ovals. I can't really explain...I can only see it. Perhaps I knit too tightly here? Perhaps I did the cables wrong? Regardless, I'm not turning back now, plus I am pretty satisfied with the 'look' regardless.

Sorry to ramble on. I guess I had a bit too much to say!

I am happy to be part of this and I cannot wait to see everyone else's Josephine's, hear stories, input, little kinks in the road and happy endings! If I can help anyone on the way, please let me know (even if I'm not exactly sure if I'm even doing it all right. doi!).
